Sowing and Planting Summary

 September:

15th

Cleared tomatoes on the patio and in the greenhouse 

Clear mini corn and one Courgette 

Cleared most of the cucumber plants as well as beetroot.



2nd

Hanging baskets taken down

Other toms just ripening, 2 bags of toms frozen

A bag of mixed Chilli frozen

One squash eaten in the van as chips. 

Pumpkins nearly all orange,three in Total

10 squash left to pick.

Apples falling from the trees although not quite ripe.

French Beans finished

Crystal lemon cucumbers still ripening.

Swish Chard still producing.

Min corn , another six taken and more developing.

Courgettes still growing but will soon end.

August:

27th

Tomatoes in hanging baskets nearly over

Three Squash picked

Courgettes still producing.

Three pumpkins viable and ripening

Mini Corn, a few picked but only one cob per plant, not growing again.


21st

Tomatoes, first Carrots eaten, Crystal Lemon Cucumbers ripening, Squash looking good, Pumpkins turning orange. Courgettes still producing.


8th

Courgettes, cucumbers and tomatoes, French beans produced another two bags for the freezer. Pumpkins and Squash are growing well, three pumpkins and over 12 squash some nearly full size.


Apples are swelling out, Leeks are about an inch thick. Carrots are ready in small quantities.

 

July:


22nd

Back from a four day trip, courgettes are now small marrows, picked 12 of various sizes

About a pound of beans.


16th

Picked courgettes and beans.

13th
Beans picked, courgettes,
Pumpkins and Squash forming.


9th
Harvested the Peas
Transplanted Lettuce from GH
Transplanted some of the spare Chillis to the garden

June:

29th 
Thinned some Beetroot, transplanted some lettuce, picked field beans, transplanted all brassicas and put up netting.

25th 
Picked some Beetroot , cooked and had with a salad, good crop.

23rd 
Picked broad beans and Stawberries 🍓.Cherry Bomb Chilli turning red.

14th 
Second strawberry 🍓 picking.

11th 
Swiss Chard, First Strawberries 🍓

10th 
Everything growing nothing to sow. Repot some nasturtium and Lupins
3rd Thinning beetroot

2nd 
 potted up an extra two garden perle tomato 🍅

May:
30th Sowed lettuce and radish outside, pigeons devastated the peas so they are now under netting again. French Beans starting to climb, 

26th
transplanted the last beans,squash, courgettes. Cucumbers

20th
transplanted lettuce, Sowed lettuce and radish. Transplanted one crystal lemon cucumber

18th
Transplanting Squash, French Beans

17th
Transplanted 2 courgettes and 2 squash into the raised beds, covered up potatoes.

14th
Transplanted Pumpkins, lettuce, Leeks, Sowed three rows of carrots
Transferred tomato hanging baskets to patio
Set up tomatoes and Chilli in the greenhouse,
Covered strawberry 🍓 with netting.

12th
1 Courgette and 2 Pumpkins transplanted out

7th
Brit Pop Corn has germinated

5th 
Made tomato hanging baskets with Garden  Perle, they will stay in the GH for another week at least. Transplanted 3 Moneymaker maker and 3 Tigerella to buckets in the GH.

4th 
Sowed Radish, Lettuce and Beetroot outside.

3rd 
Repotted 12 lupins 

1st 
Transplanted out more Swiss Chard


April:

28th
sowed Mini Pop Corn, Broad Beans, Nasturtiums, Sunflowers, Parsley.

23rd.
Sow extra French beans

22nd.
Mini pop corn has been eaten by mice. Sowed more lettuce that has not germinated. French beans second sowing starting to show.

21st
Picked the third batch of asparagus.




19th
Sowed new carrots, courgette and squash also repotted squash and courgettes

18th
Transplanted some Beetroot and Swiss chard outside. One courgette has broken through

16th
Violas, resown climbing beans.
Repotted 4 pumpkins

15th
Savoy cabbage, extra basil.

14th
Chilli repotted

13th
Transplanted mini pot corn outside

7th
Transplanted all peas outside.

4th
Resowed 25 Brit pop corn seeds.

March:
31st
Sowed more lettuce in GH. Repotted chilli and peppers into pots.

29th
Sowed Brussels, curly kale, radish and more lupins.

24th
sowed another 120 peas in the GH, Mice are eating the Broad Beans.

16th
Peas that had sprouted  are transplanted out under nets. Radish sown under cloche. Sown parsley, coriander, basil, lettuce, cauliflower, cape gooseberry.

14th
Beetroot sprouting

9th
Peas just sprouting

2nd
Sowed Swiss Chard and Beetroot in cells in the GH

1st
Sowed Leeks and cowslips

February:
24th
Peas in cells in the greenhouse 150 peas

21st
Carrots, broad beans and field beans sown outdoors.

15th
Repotted two Cherry Bomb Chilli into 10" pots

12th
Peppers and Chillies sown in cells, placed in airing cupboard
Tomatoes: Tigerella, Money Maker and Garden Perle.
Peppers: Mini Bell (own seeds), Jalapeno, Paper Lantern, Purple Tiger.
